ADULT ADHD ASSESSMENT SERVICE
If you have questions about attention, organisation or restlessness, an assessment can explore what may be contributing to your difficulties and whether ADHD is part of the picture.
PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

A PLACE TO START

ADHD can involve ongoing difficulties with attention, impulsivity or restlessness. In adults, these may affect daily routines, work, study or relationships. Similar difficulties can have other causes, which is why a thorough assessment matters.
There is no single test that confirms ADHD. Assessment considers your experiences now, evidence of symptoms in childhood and how difficulties affect different parts of your life. It also considers other conditions that may explain or occur alongside them.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
A careful assessment that considers your experiences, history and what support may be helpful next.
Your experiences, a detailed assessment and a conversation with our team all contribute to a clearer understanding of your individual needs.

A conversation that looks beyond individual symptoms.
A clinical interview, validated assessment tools and a detailed personal history help build a clearer picture of your experiences. The assessment also considers other conditions that may explain or occur alongside your difficulties.

The service includes diagnostic feedback and a detailed assessment report. Following your assessment, you will be offered an optional follow-up appointment with a psychiatrist for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. This appointment incurs an additional fee.

Previous assessments, school reports or relevant health records can help provide background information. It is okay if some of these records are unavailable.
Prepare a list of medications and relevant physical and mental health history.
With your agreement, information from someone who knows you well may help. Ask the team what they need and how it should be provided.

FEES AND FUNDING

YOUR QUESTIONS
Clear information can help you decide what to ask and how to prepare.
No. Questionnaires can support assessment, but they do not replace a clinical evaluation or establish a diagnosis on their own.
ADHD begins in childhood, even when it is recognised later. Understanding your earlier experiences helps the clinician consider whether the diagnostic criteria are met.
Not having access to your school reports does not prevent you from participating in the assessment process. While school reports can provide useful information about your childhood experiences, they are not a requirement to begin an assessment. If they are unavailable, the team can discuss other ways to explore your history.
Contact the team for the current appointment structure, availability and expected reporting timeframe. The team can explain the arrangements before you book.
No. Assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis or a prescription. Any treatment discussion depends on the findings, your health and your preferences.
