CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AT PERTH CLINIC

Graduate Occupational Therapy Program

Perth Clinic’s Occupational Therapy Program offers an excellent opportunity for graduate level OT’s looking to begin their career in mental health.

Over a 12-month period, graduates will be provided with:

  • Regular supervision and mentorship individually and within the therapy team.
  • Clinical skill development and comprehensive learning through in-house and external training opportunities.
  • Direct observation of a variety of interventions in groups and with individuals based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness based frameworks.

Intake

Perth Clinic offers a graduate intake in January 2023, with a potential further intake mid-year. Applications for 2023 are now open, and graduates seeking a mid-year intake are also encouraged to apply.

Graduate Nurse Program

Perth Clinics’ Graduate Nurse Program offers comprehensive support and guidance for nurses to transition from academia to clinical practice in mental health. The program is designed to expose first year Registered Nurses to a diverse range of clinical experiences in mental health.

Perth Clinic offers a 12 month program for Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses with rotations through four specialty clinical mental health areas. This program includes:

  • Exposure to acute psychiatry, drug and alcohol patients, adolescent patients and patients with complex trauma.
  • Clinical skill based development and comprehensive knowledge relevant to the care of mental health patients supported by two quarantined study days built into the graduate program each month.
  • To ensure graduate nurses practise collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in a culturally safe manner, valuing ethical behaviour graduate nurses are provided with a preceptor on all rotations.

Intake

Perth Clinic offers one graduate intake per year, in January. Applications for the 2024 program from 1 July 2023.
